Komatsu 855

Powerful yet compact forwarder

Komatsu 855

The Komatsu 855 is an allround forwarder, suitable for both thinning and clear cutting. The forwarder is powerful yet compact and offers you long-term productivity in all situations.

Features

Efficient loading

The crane has a long reach and a high net lifting force, a reliable pillar and hose routing solution and a Combi outer boom. Tiltable crane pillar (option) for efficient loading in steep terrain.

Flexible bunk with high load capacity

The Komatsu 855 has a large bunk characterised by its flexibility and many options. One is FlexGate, the gate that improves visibility and flexes out of the way if struck by the crane. This simplifies loading and minimises the risk of machine damage. Another is FlexBunk, which with its hydraulic height-adjustable stakes and option to widen the bunk provides a high load capacity.

Easy to maintain

Service and maintenance are quickly and easily conducted. All daily service can be performed from ground level via easily accessible service hatches and the dipsticks are quickly and easily checked. The engine hood is electrically powered and the filters are strategically located together for easy access under the hood. The forwarder has many conveniently located service hatches.

More power for sustainable productivity

We have a brand new engine installation conforming to the latest emission legislation (Stage V). It also offers you many other advantages, such as an all new AdBlue system, a new exhaust system and hydraulic tappets. Despite the new larger engine installation we’ve managed to keep the same slim design with good all round visibility and views of the machine – right down to the wheels.

The transmission for tough conditions

High tractive effort and a strong transmission are some of the characteristics required for a forwarder to be operated in tough terrain. All Komatsu forwarders offer these advantages in the standard versions, but for particularly tough terrain, something extra is sometimes required in the form of endurance and strength. Therefore, we offer the XT option for some of our forwarder models.

Komatsu 855 with the XT characteristics is equipped with a more powerful bogie with hub reductions, which is a great advantage when working in difficult conditions, such as steep, snowy or wet terrain.
