Komatsu 951

Powerful harvester for final logging

Komatsu 951

Our largest six-wheeled harvester is both productive and powerful, optimised as it is for final logging. It offers high performance and the sturdy crane can carry extremely large heads.

Features

Komatsu 951

Tailored to your working day

– Choose between two crane lengths: 10.3/8.7 m (fixed reach)

– Several productive heads of different sizes to choose between. The Komatsu C164 was developed as a perfect match for the Komatsu 951.

– 28.5" wheels and generously sized bogies enable this machine to pass obstacles easily.

Optimised for final logging

Our final logging harvesters are designed to deliver high productivity shift after shift while still being agile for their size.

A powerful engine combined with high tractive force makes manoeuvring a breeze, even in difficult terrain. The bogie design with portals and integrated balance function help ensure good ground clearance and a high level of operator comfort. It also contributes to impressive performance in steep terrain and on soft ground alike.

Equipped with our strongest crane, it produces enough lifting force for you to work efficiently, even with our largest heads.

Working hydraulics you can depend on

3PS is our innovative hydraulic system that ensures you have the capacity to perform several operations at once – with maximum hydraulic power. For example, you can slew the crane, feed a log and manoeuvre the machine at the same time. If, instead, you are performing tasks that require less power, only parts of the system are used, meaning lower energy losses and thereby lower fuel consumption. An innovation that is good for your wallet, quite simply!

While 3PS is available on all our harvesters, it is particularly useful for final logging as you can perform several operations at the same time.

Give your cab a finishing touch

The harvester cab has an ergonomic design with many added conveniences to help ensure job satisfaction. It can also be complemented with a wide range of extra equipment, should you want to tailor your workplace to suit your personal preferences. You can see a few of these options below, with more to be found in the brochure.

– Sequence control for both EME and mini joysticks
– Interior floor lighting and reading lamp on flexible arm
– Radio with Bluetooth and hands-free support
– Food box heater
– Cooler
– Sun shades
– Removable floor mat

By the way, did you know that the storage space in the panel behind the driver's seat can be used to cool bottles of drink? Ideal for keeping cool on hot days.

Hood guard two versions

Choose between two hood guards

To protect the engine hood from external impacts, we offer an optional hood guard that comes in two versions: standard and reinforced.

The reinforced hood guard attaches to the frame and is made of larger gauge piping than the standard version. This reinforced version can be separated in the middle, so when the engine hood is to be opened, the operator releases the sturdy catch and pivots the two halves of the hood guard outwards to either side.

When adding a standard or reinforced hood guard, the harvester can also be equipped with additional fire safety in the shape of two 9 kg fire extinguishers as well as a rake, a spade and a digging bar.

Smart Crane Harvesters

Crane operation at its easiest

For a harvester operator, an easily operated crane is important for ensuring a productive working day. With Komatsu Smart Crane, the crane – from the main boom all the way to the tip of the telescopic arm – is controlled with a single, smooth lever movement.

Thanks to the crane’s precision and responsiveness, the operator can easily steer the head where they want it, contributing to a more relaxed way of working. A relaxed operator can keep up a high and steady production during the day and still feel more refreshed at the end of the working day. Advantages that will be seen in both profitability and the operator’s well-being.

MaxiFleet

Leave nothing to chance

Smart Forestry gives you access to a collection of digital services that help make the workplace safe, smart, productive and sustainable - whether you have one or a hundred forest machines. You can keep track of your machines, collaborate with colleagues, and make wise decisions based on facts.

Smart Forestry consists of three different applications, making it easy for you to find the one that suits you and your business.

MaxiFleet Precision mindre

Smart Forestry Precision

Smart Forestry Precision uses the latest technology in satellite positioning to determine the machine’s position with an error margin of just a few centimetres. This paves the way for productive and smart work methods where the operator is provided with key information and support to enable informed decisions.

There are several useful functions within Precision, like the ability to create exact, digital fences to mark the borders of a work area or around protected areas. It's also easier to classify stems based on environmental considerations with the stem code visualisation tool.
